Rev. Dr. Cedric L. Perkins – Biography
Reverend Dr. Cedric L. Perkins is the Senior Pastor of the Pilgrim Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska, where he has served for more than 18 years. He is a graduate of the Colbert County High School, Leighton, Alabama; Rev. Dr. Perkins continued his studies and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering from R.E.T.S. Electronic Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. After his call to the ministry, he completed a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Heritage Bible College in Huntsville, Alabama; received a Master of Biblical Studies from Heritage Bible College in Huntsville, Alabama; and holds a Doctor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Pastor Perkins has been blessed to exercise his God-given talents to many across the nation in workshops, seminars, and revivals. He has participated in panel discussions, presided, and preached in the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. on numerous occasions, National Baptist Congress, and Germany Baptist/ National Baptist Congress.
Dr. Perkins serves as an Executive Board Member of the Pilgrim/Omaha Economic Development Corporation, Immediate Past State President of the New Era Baptist State Convention of Nebraska, Inc. He is the Immediate Past Vice President of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, Western Region and Second Vice President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. He is a former Board Member of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. and former member of the Consortium of Young Pastors’ and formally served as Assistant Director with the Spirit of Timothy ministry of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. He is also an administrator, instructor, and faculty member of the National Baptist Congress and New Era Baptist State Congress of Christian Education. Pastor Perkins is also a former First Vice President of the New Era Baptist State Convention of Nebraska, Inc.
Pastor Perkins has served, and continues to serve in the community on various committees and organizations to bring about a change along with providing advisory support to a wide variety of community movements: Baptist Pastors and Ministers Conference, Concerned Clergy of North Omaha, City of Omaha Mayor Clergy Advisory Council, Executive Board Habitat for Humanity Roof and Home Repair, African-American Empowerment Network; in past years United States Census 2010, Scruggs / Young for NBC President Committee, Clean Solutions for Omaha, State of Nebraska Click It Steering Committee, Northeast Omaha Weed and Seed Steering Committee, Katrina Relief, Omaha Together One Community, Heartland Workforce Solutions, and numerous others.
Dr. Perkins is an Urban League of Nebraska, 2011 African-American Leadership Award – Faith Category recipient and an Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Metropolitan Omaha, 2016 IMA Drum Major for Accountability recipient.
Rev. Dr. Perkins previously served as Pastor of the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Rogersville, Alabama. He is the husband of Angel Andrews Perkins; they are the proud parents of three daughters.
In time of relaxation, Rev. Perkins enjoys sharing with family, working-out, basketball, bowling, walking, traveling, grilling, watching sporting events, and visiting friends.
